COMMITTED to the Jail of Warren county on the 21st day of Jan. 1842, by the Mayor of the city Vicksburg, as a runaawy slave, a mulatto man that calls himself Jered Sims, and says that he belongs to Miss Landonia Randolph of Fauquier county, Virginia. and that he run away from her in 1836. Said mulatto is 5 feet — inches high, rather light made, is supposed to be 24 or 25 years old, dark heavy eye brows, large whiskers, is a barber by trade, had on when committed grey steel mixt pants a blue frock coat, with vel-vet breast and collar, cloth cap and a variety of clothing in a carpet bag, among them a blue suit of dress clothing. The owner is requested to come forward, prove peroperty, pay charges and take him out of Jail, or he will be dealt with as the law directs. E B SCARBROUGH, SH'FF feb 15 8tf
