The slave LEWIS was com-mitted to the Wilkinson County jail June 13th; age 35; stout made; very black; 5 feet 5 inches tall; quick spoken; "plays on violin which he had with him;" wearing cottonade pantaloons, a cotton shirt, an old hat, and a dark coat; had other clothing with him. Fletcher lived in Point Coupee Parish, Louisiana. (W.R. 6-23-38)
