A band of impressed, crescent-shaped shaped swags separated by impressed triple-leafed bellflower motifs is below the incised line. A gap between two swags is filled with two impressed bellflowers, one oriented horizontally above another oriented vertically. Below is stamped “COERLEARS / HOOK”; to the right is stamped “N●YORK”. -
Jar Three Gallon Jar. Inscribed “Dave / April 5 / 1855”. Also inscribed “LM” with “/ /” slash marks and three punctuates ***” as capacity marks. This beautifully glazed two-handled jar is distinguished by the well-tooled rim and shoulder treatment. The “Dave” signature and date are executed with an extraordinarily bold flourish. -
