One Hundred Pounds Specie Reward.
RAN away, from the subscriber, on the 4th inst, two Negroes and two Mulatto Fellows; one of the Mulattoes goes by the name of Charles Jackson, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, long Indian hair, which he wore tied, a scar under one of his eyes, a chunky stout-made fellow, and can work well in a blacksmith’s shop, was born on Long-Island and formerly belonged to one Simmonds, speaks in the Quaker dialect; the other Mulatto calls himself Gilbert Montague, is about 19 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, a woolly head, slim built, a round face, and squints a little, was born and brought up at Norfolk, Virginia. One of the Negroes goes by the name of Southey alias Surry, about 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, has a perceptible blemish in the corner of one of his eyes, has several scars on his body, occasioned by whipping, was born on the Eastern Shore, Virginia; the other Negro calls himself John Richards, about 23 or 24 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, a stout well-made fellow, speaks a little broken, and has a very coarse voice, has been used to go by water, has a scar under one of his ears, and is a good deal marked with flogging aboard of different vessels. Whoever takes up either of the above described Slaves, and secures them in any gaol, so that I may get them again, shall be entitled to a reward of Fifty Dollars for each; if one or any of them is brought home, they shall receive Twenty-five Pounds for each; and if the four is delivered to me, the person, or persons, that brings them home, shall receive the above Reward from
