FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS REWARD.
RAN away, from the subscriber, on the 22d of January instant, a white Mulatto Slave, named LEONARD, 31 years of age, about six feet high, well made, a strong healthy fellow, has a scar on his under lip and chin, which were split by sawing at the whipsaw, another under his chin, caused by a swelling; he wears his hair hanging short behind, and is much sunburnt: had on when he went away, a short blue cloth coat and waistcoat, leather breeches, white yarn stockings, and took several pair of shoes, &c. with him. He is a carpenter by trade, and took with him some carpenters and joiners tools. He was persuaded off by a white woman, who calls herself Rachel Dorsey, and says that, about 8 or 9 years ago, she left Pennsylvania. It appears that she had two children by the above slave, both boys, the eldest named Samuel, about five years of age; the other named Basil, two years of age. It is supposed they will pass for man and wife, and make for Pennsylvania, or the Eastern Shore.
WHOEVER takes up the said SLAVE, and secures him in gaol, so that I get him again, shall receive Two Thousand Dollars; and if brought home, the above Reward, paid by
BARBARA WILLIAMS.
