Twenty Dollars Reward.
RAN AWAY, from the subscriber, on yesterday, a Mulatto Man, named BOB*, about 23 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 10 inches high; he is a very likely, sensible and plausible fellow, fleshy and well made, of a pleasant countenance, part of one of his fore-teeth is broken off: He knows something of the carpenter’s and cooper’s business; he took with him, a blue kersey coat, a pair of striped overalls, a pair of buckskin breeches, and sundry other articles of cloathing; he contrived to get in his possession upwards of six pounds, in crowns and dollars, which he took with him. Whoever takes up and secures the said Slave, so that his Master gets him again, shall receive, if 10 miles from home, Four Dollars; if 20, Six; if 30, Eight; and if on the Eastern-Shore, or out of the State, the above Reward, and reasonable charges paid, if brought home, by
THOMAS JOHNS.
Maryland, Montgomery County, Newport-Mill, June 7, 1789.
N.B. It is apprehended that he took with him, a likely young black Mare, about 14 hands high, pleasant-gated, trots, paces and gallops, no brand, with an English-made half-worn boy’s saddle.
