Eight Dollars Reward.
RAN AWAY, from Ridgely’s Forges, on the Great Falls of Gunpowder, and about 15 miles from Baltimore-Town, on the great road leading to Philadelphia, on the 30th day of September last, a dark Mulatto Slave, named CATO, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high; he is a straight well-built fellow, his veins are remarkably high, and appear very plain on his legs and arms, his voice is soft, his language plain and intelligible; he is not very fond of strong liquor, although he has been in the army several campaigns during the late war. He is a regular-bred forgeman and finer, and worked at Antietam Forge several years, where he acquired a general acquaintance, also, at Frederick and Hagar’s-Town, and is supposed to be sculking about some of those places. He went off in company with a Mulatto Slave, named DICK, the property of Mr. William Goodwin, and DICK is since taken at the Hollow, not far from Hagar’s-Town; his clothes are unknown, as he ran off with only an oznaburg shirt, and one pair trousers. Whoever takes up said Slave, and confines him in any gaol, so that I get him again, shall be entitled to the above reward, and all reasonable charges if brought home, paid by
HENRY HOWARD.
