ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS REWARD.
RAN away from the subscriber’s dwelling, near Pig-Point, on Patuxent river, on the 2d instant, a MULATTO man slave, named TOM SALTER, aged about 50 years, about six feet high, a bony fellow, a little round shouldered, hatchet face, high nose, the joint of each great toe sticks out pretty much, his skin is a little clouded about his neck something blacker than his face, wears his hair round his head, the hair on the top of his head cut, and one of his legs smaller than the other, but which I do not remember; he is remarkably fond of strong liquor, and when in liquor values himself much of his manhood; his working apparel, when he ran away, was an old blue fearnought jacket, a new country cloth jacket kersey wove; his other apparel a London brown cloth coat, a buff jacket, white shirt, green cloth breeches, and a pair of London brown ditto, and a felt hat; it is likely he may change his apparel and name, and endeavour to pass for a free man and shoemaker, as he can do pretty good work. —Whoever secures the said fellow and delivers him to me, the subscriber, at my dwelling, shall be paid the above reward, by
SAMUEL LANE.
N.B. All persons are forbid to entertain the said slave on any occasion whatever, at their peril. When taken he must be well secured, otherwise he will make his escape.
