25 Dollars Reward. HAVING purchased a negro man named JIM, a blacksmith by trade, from Mr. Joseph Clark, and the said Jim being now a runaway, I will give twenty-five dollars to any person, either a white person or negro, who will bring the said boy to me, or place him in any jail so that I get him again ; Should the negro voluntarily return home I will give him ten dollars. In either case he shall not be punished, but shall be treated as indu[?]tly as any negro could wish. CLEMENT NASH READ. Washingnton 11th December 1817 —27.
