The slave CHARLES HILL was committed to the Wilkinson County jail on May 3rd; mulatto; 5 feet 6 inches tall; age 38; stour made; wearing a Lowell shirt and pants, "stripped" cotton frock coat, old straw hat. CHARLES professed to be a blacksmith; said he could read and write. Davis was from New Orleans.
