Runaways in Adams County Jail. NED, nearly 40 years of age, has a scar on his breast, also one on his under lip, about 5 feet 8 inches high, is very severely marked on the back by the whip; states that he is the slave of Alexander Farar. Was committed on the 22d instant. HENRY, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout built, yellow complexion, and also states that he is the slave of said Alexander Farar. Was committed on the 22d instant. JOHN WILSON, (says he is a free man,) about 5 feet 9 inches high, stout built, yellow complexion, has about 30 or 35 years of age, a scar on his left cheeck and one on his forehead, also a small lump on his forehead; is se-verely marked on the buttock by the whip, says he for-merly belonged to Mr John Pier, of New-Orleans, who set him free, pretends to be a good carpenter. From information, it is believed that his name is Nelson, and that he is a slave and a runaway. Was committed on the 15th instant. The owners of the above named negroes, are requested to comply with the law and take them away. WM. T. WALKER, Jailor. May 27. 22
