The slave JOHN was com-mitted to the Wilkinson County jail; age 30 or 35; 5 feet 6 inches tall; had sundry clothing with him; carpenter by trade; proved out of this jail by Jesse Ashworth in 1840 living in Texas near Louisiana. Dinar was a Frenchman living in or near New Or-leans.
