THIRTY DOALRLS[sic] REWARD. RUN away a negro man named LARY. He is between 25 and 30 years of age, very likely, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, plausible and cunning, is a good House Carpenter, and has worked at times as a Ship Carpenter and Joiner--is well known in this Town and neighborhood, has taken with him blue and white homespun jacket and trousers: absented himself about 6 or 8 days ago, though unknown to me till yesterday. He had no kind of provocation or cause for his elopement, and it is apprehended has been enticed away, and either has already or will endeavour to get out of the State is some vessel. All masters of vessels & others are cautioned against harbouring or in any wise concealing the said Negro Lary, as they may depend on the law being rigorously enforced on detection. A Reward of Fifty Dollars will be given on discovery and conviction of the offender if a white person; and One Hundred Dollars will be given, if said Negro is apprehended out of the State, on his being delivered to the subscriber, or lodged in Wilmington jail. The above mentioned Reward of Thirty Dollars to be paid if Lary is found within this State, on the delivery of him to the subscriber. A negro man named Toney, the property of Mrs. Moseley, is supposed to have accompanied him. JOHN LONDON. Wilmington, April 7.
