WARWICK, May 26, 1776.
RUN away from mr. Donald 's plantation in Prince Edward , about the latter end of April , a dark coloured mulatto fellow named WILL , and generally passes by the name of William Hunt . He is about 40 years of age, 4 feet 8 or 9 inches high, had a variety of clothes (but most commonly wore a jacket and pair of breeches made out of a duffil blanket) all of which he carried off with him. He has lost some of his fore teeth, and has rather a down look, understands a little of the blacksmith and shoemaking trades, and carried away with him a set of shoemakers tools. He pretends also to know something of religious matters, and misses no opportunity of holding forth on that subject. Fifty shillings will be given to any person who secures him in any jail in Virginia , and 5l. if delivered at this place, or in Prince Edward , where he went from was also stolen, or strayed from the plantation in Henry county whereon mr. John Rowland lives, some time last fall, a bright bay mare, very old, about 4 feet 5 inches high, branded with a stirrup iron on the near buttock and shoulder, and had some saddle spots. Thirty shillings will be paid to the person who delivers her to mr. Donald , and on conviction of the thief 5l. will be allowed.
JOHN MURCHIE .
