RUN away from the subscriber in Hanover county, a mulatto man slave named CHARLES, about 22 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches high, slim made, of a light complexion, has straight hair, and has been used to work at the carpenters business. He took with him a middle sized black mare, a little galled on the shoulders by carting, but neither docks nor branded. He has a blue fearnought coat, and a green plains coat with metal buttons, and is supposed to be gone towards North Carolina. Whoever apprehends the said slave, and brings him to me, shall have 40 s. reward, besides what the law allows; and if taken out of the colony 5 l.
JOHN SNELSON.
